Super Blogger Plugin support

Elevate2 comes with a template override for the new Blogging plugin from Joomla Works called Super Blogger. Super Blogger is a flexible blogging solution that slots right inside your regular Joomla content to transform it into the ultimate Joomla blog.

Please note that the Super Blogger plugin does not come with the quickstart package. You need to purchase the plugin separately from the Joomlaworks website.

SuperBlogger is a new powerful plugin adding blogging functionality to Joomla! 1.5 articles. The plugin integrates popular services like Disqus.com (for comments) and Twitter, along with commonly used blogging tools like tagging, rating, bookmarking and social media sharing. Add to that MVC template overrides and the ability to process images server-side and you got a real Wordpress contender, if not better in some areas!

Using the Super Blogger template

Using the Super Blogger plugin is as simple as installing and publishing the plugin using the normal Joomla installation method. Once you have installed the extension and configured your settings in the plugin administrator the template does the rest. If you feel like tweaking the design you can edit any of the files located in templates/Elevate2/html/jw_superblogger. As a guide the listings.php file is the equivalent of a Joomla Blog category while the article.php file relates to the article view.

The demo site for the Elevate2 template takes advantage of two other joomla modules and a custom html module to give the left column a sidebar kind of feel.

• The top image is just an html module with an image placed in it.
• The second module is the mod_blogcal-j15 module created by Drew Willis. We tweaked the module ever so slightly and our tweaked version can be found in the free download area in the Joomla Bamboo download area.
• The module that sits beneath the blogcal module is the core Joomla mostread module.
